Working on a character turnaround today, for my original character (OC), Arslan. ☀️
I’ve been wanting to push myself more towards character design and concept art, so I thought it would be fun to take one of my OC’s, and actually work out through a proper turnaround. This is only the half of it though.
Arslan is one of my more developed characters, so he felt like the perfect candidate!!! I wanted to figure out how his proportions, clothes, silhouette, and overall design translate from different angles while still keeping him recognizable.
I’m still very much learning, but I really want to get better at designing characters that feel like they could actually exist in 3D space and feel cohesive. Because eventually I’d like to try modeling him.
And of course, Arslan needs to show off the J’s. 👟☀️
I actually based this turnaround on, this specific outfit design I made for him.
This is only part one of this modeling sheet. I have already made some expressions for him that will go alongside the turnaround.
It’s turning out good so far!
