Decided to give this old OC a little touch up.

I made this character way back in 2022 when I was writing a novel titled Infinite//Regress. Even though with Heavenly Bodies there was a prequel that made the story a little bit more LGBTQIA+++. Infinite//Regress was the first full blown novel where I decided to be true to myself and actually write something I felt was the right choice.
Also at this time I was transitioning with my drawings, to let’s say draw more spicy content. This is because I remembered I felt trapped and stuck in a box with traditional storytelling. And I wanted to draw BARA. So of course the logical next step is quite obvious.
But I knew I also wanted to continue writing fantasy. And since Heavenly Bodies left a sour taste in my mouth, I decided to just say eff it to the world. After all if you’re writing for someone else, you’re doomed to fail. So that’s how Dragos was made!
I/R tells the story of a sad depressed gay lonely boy who is in his late 30’s, the novel starts with him dying, I think something happens and truck-kun strikes again. Some weird shit happens next, the portal in the sky opens and he is transported by lovecraftian entities from the other side to this new world.
Where after some dilly dally, our protagonist meets Dragos, and he takes it as a sign of the universe. It must be a sign because it was his dying wish to have a bara boyfriend. The sage council from beyond gave him such wish.
Of course looking back at the novel it make me cringe, and if anything I’d just like to recycle the ideas into a new novel or whatever. It was a product of its time most likely. And the old 2022 version of Dragos is just no longer representative of my current style.
It’s so over designed, like there are many things that make me cringe now, and would probably not include in a character design now. But back during those days it was probably something I was into and thought it could be cool. I still think the character holds up today, like i do find it cool, but the newer version is so much better imo.
And a couple of days ago I was looking at my novels and found I/R, and well honestly the cover just doesn’t add up today, it’s just kinda ugly and the photo bashing is just really bad. So yeah I just made a newer version, much cleaner and better looking.
In my mind Drago’s is a little bit of a spiky red hair bad boy, a mix between Kirishima and Bakugo, like he has a good heart but is quick to explode.
