Hey guys so I decided to do something a little different but I think could be equally as fun! The other day I was in a manic delulu, and decided to come up with the classes for my non existent video game featuring my oc’s.
I’ve always been a fan of open game world design, games where you’re meant to explore and just find stuff on your own, where bosses don’t really have a specific order and you can go about doing them as you please.
If I were to create a video game it would follow those principles. Think Dark Souls meets Zelda except the combat is more like a Star Ocean or Tales series. Sure there’s difficulty but nothing you can’t overcome by choosing the right load out and brining the right party members with you, or even maybe a little bit of grinding.
Video games are meant to be fun and I’m not a fan or exploiting the player via challenging difficulty that’s not meant to challenge but torture you. There’s a fine line between those two and I’d rather challenge the player, rather than make them suffer because there’s a weird masochistic disdain directed towards the one holding the controller.
I’m thinking your party members would be fixed to a specific class (still playable during combat though) and the MC (aka the player) would be able to pick and choose different spells and abilities via a skill tree but wouldn’t be locked down to a specific class. The player can make their own build, with little handholding from the developer. All right let’s get to it.
