– Anamnesis – Prelude –

Every story needs to start somewhere.

PATREON/GUMROAD

It all started with The Arslan Chronicles.

A webnovel about a boy who falls in love with his best friend.

In the far future, humanity has created a [full dive VR machine]. All of your senses tapped in into a virtual world.

Inside the internet there’s something called [The First Sphere] a walled of garden with strict rules, where users would create [singularity worlds], with unlimited access.

After the project had been completed, the human mods left the project alone, running on racks of servers, 24/7. Leaving only AI mods behind. The netizens of The First Sphere.

User’s hire netizens to play ‘parts’ in their world. Users can also create ‘new souls’ through the advance character creator.

The users create worlds and get to explore them. However there’s a catch, as users enter each world. They loose all memory of ever having created it.

Die once, and get booted from the singularity world – only to be thrown to another world in the deep layers of The First Sphere human unconscious.

Players can bring unique souls with them as partners if they form a strong enough bond with them. But only if they have an item called [fairy bottle] where the character soul can entered and be transferred across The First Sphere safely.

Thus they explore each creation like it’s their fist time.

Each time they dive deeper into the unconscious of humanity. Not knowing how many layers are above them, or below them.

They can maintain their memories when returning to the same world a second time however.

The cycle continues.

There’s this boy quiet, shy, silent, calm and composed, pulling energy along with him – like the moon.

There’s this other boy, extroverted, fun, burning, catches your gaze unable to look away – like the sun.

They are best friends – the moon is in love with the sun.

One day after leaving a party together – they get into a car crash. The sun burns it’s last flame as the moon looks across in shock. The moon would no longer be able to shine back it’s light. Leaving it alone in the empty void. With only a dying planet to look inside.

It was 7 whole minutes before everyone on the planet froze to death – only as the moon watched on.

The apocalypse event – endgame.

The moon decides this is not the final outcome. His favorite soul, taken with him. A soul the moon had carved out from a single memory, a happy memory. So the moon decided to do it once more. Open up the void and travel across gravity to find a new story – somewhere else where it won’t be able to remember.

Remembering what it did, unable to face its own actions. It all comes to the surface after a while. Sometimes it takes longer – other times it’s shorter.

Traumatic memories buried within The First Sphere, creeping up like intrusive thoughts.

Happy memories creating waves of happiness, euphoric in nature.

It’s as simple as an item from the past triggering it. [Trigger Points] through the narrative that bring back memories of ol’.

It’s all for naught as the moon has one final power – [void seeker].

The power to see the void, to go deeper into it, until it will finally find the abyss.

An experience all too grueling for the human psyche, banned in several places across the world for commercial use. And bought by military companies to impression criminals in digital spaces.

It’s not exactly illegal to keep them in there. After a while, everyone eventually goes mad.
