[RENDER] – BY THE PIER.

Another drawing where I went back and decided to render it just because. Little story after the break.

PATREON/GUMROAD

Not really a lot of lore to add with this except I really like how the jeans turned out.

Practicing my render until I have something spectacular out of this world.

In case you were wondering the bg is stock photography because I can and pay a subscription to Envato. That’s where I get all my stock photos. Anyway just wanted to say that.

It could always be worse, because it’s not AI.

Backgrounds are hard and right now I’m concentrating on making characters as close as possible to SQ style. So stock backgrounds for now. 🙂

Thanks!

Arslan never admits when he needs a break — but Eiden can always tell. After days of navigating crowded markets, cryptic maps, and too many near-fights with people after the same thing as them, the two of them finally reach the coast of Lunaris Bay, a sprawling city carved along the seaside cliffs.

Their quest was supposed to take them straight through the city and out the other side… but the sound of waves and the smell of salt pulls Arslan in like a magnet. Eiden teases him for pretending he’s “just scouting the area,” even though Arslan’s already rolling up his sleeves and leaning against the pier rail like he owns the horizon.

Lunaris Bay is known for strange things washing ashore — old tokens, lost relics, bits of forgotten magic. Some say the sea itself keeps memories that don’t belong to it. Arslan doesn’t believe in superstition, but he does believe in following instincts… and right now his instincts tell him that something they need is out there, somewhere between the gull calls and the shining water.

For a moment, the quest fades into the background. Arslan lets himself breathe, lets the sun warm his skin, lets Eiden laugh at something dumb he said. Even heroes get to stand still sometimes.

But the sea isn’t quiet for long.

Their detour?

Yeah… it’s about to become the most important part of their journey.
