They end up sitting down at a small sushi place somewhere near downtown. It had four tables inside, and it was kind of cramped, but the sushi came out rather quickly. It was also very empty.
Genuinely has that whole-in-the-wall type vibe. And when the food came, both boys were enjoying it like it was their last meal. There was a nice old lady behind the counter looking at them enjoy their meals and smiling vicariously.
“We should come here more often,” Arslan said in between bites.
“Mhhmm,” Eiden said, slurping out the noodles from his ramen.
Eiden takes a sip from his drink.
“Oh!!! You are not going to believe what this bitch did to me!” Eiden starts. Arslan stops in his tracks. Still with half a roll of kimbap in his mouth.
“Who?” He blurts out.
“Megan from Maths III!” Eiden seriously has some tea, and it’s piping hot.
Arslan nodded like he knew who that was.
He had no idea.
Eiden is taking most of the AP courses in V2. Arslan blinks.
“She had the audacity to try and call me out because I took her name off the paper we were supposed to hand in together. Like, everyone else did their part—and in a timely manner so I even had time to make it all nice—just because no one wanted to follow her ideas, she’s taking it out on me. It’s not my fault she’s taking this class for the 4th time now! It’s like, get a grip, Megan. Everyone said it was fine if I took the leader role and organized everyone to hand in their part. But for some reason she fucking hates me.” Eiden rants for a moment. Arslan just looks puppy-dog-eyed.
“You scare me sometimes,” Arslan said in between bites. Chugging some water.
“How come?” Eiden asks.
“Because you took her name off the paper!” Arslan said.
“I wasn’t about to give her a free ride just because we’re supposed to feel sorry for her. She doesn’t even have a sport! Besides, I know on good terms she’s fucking Brad from the American team.” Eiden blurts
“Oh yeah—“ Arslan stops for a moment, processing what he just heard.
“Wait! But Brad has a girlfriend!” Arslan said, shocked.
“Exactly—you didn’t hear it from me, though.” Eiden raised his hands in defeat.
“No way! Who told you this?” Arslan said, swatting from across the table to try and catch Eiden’s hand. Eiden ducking playfully out of the way.
“I am not telling you; I know you—you’re going to go tell Jessi,” Eiden smiles as he ducks out of the way.
“Of course I’m going to go tell Jessi; she’s my close friend,” Arslan mumbles his words. As he tries to catch Eiden’s hand without getting up from his chair.
“That woman is a saint, I’m telling you!” Arslan expressed enthusiastically.
“I know—that’s why the tea ends right there,” Eiden chuckled.
“Ugh! Fine!” Arslan stopped swatting at him.
Arslan turned to the kitchen and asked for seconds. They got to work on their next order.
It doesn’t even matter; Jessi was going to find out sooner rather than later.
